The Issues Paper for the Blayney, Cabonne and Orange Rural Industrial Strategy has been finalised and will be presented to the community at a series of meetings throughout the district over the next three weeks. The first meeting is at Yeoval on Monday 25 September followed by Millthorpe, Molong and Blayney.

The issues raised by the community during the preliminary meetings in late 2005 have been incorporated into an Issues Paper. This included a recognition that agriculture is economically significant and needs to be protected. Industry is also vital to ensure jobs for the youth of the district and to business retention, expansion and attraction.

The community also identified that during the preliminary meetings the regions environment and heritage is very important as it forms part of the attractiveness of the area. Residents also strongly expressed the need for a variety of resident opportunities to be available for existing and potential residents particularly where it strengthens and supports the city, town and villages of three Council areas.

Blayney, Cabonne and Orange urge residents to attend one of the upcoming consultations to commence on Monday 25th September.
